The fact that he didn't have a working computer for over six months was also a contributing factor. Well, after searching through the various online forums that are floating around, I found out that Cake Mania was behind the crashes and had to be the reason for it. Then again, I didn't think anything of my brother-in-law's computer at the time and I didn't really take much notice until recently when he had a hard drive crash, and we tried to figure it out.

To my amazement, there were tons of pop-ups that were extremely annoying and confounded me more than anything else.
